A Message from Slade: Your dog wants you to be vaccinated
The COVID-19 pandemic wasn’t fun for humans. It was also bad for us dogs.
Nobody likes to feel sick. When my human is sick, I feel badly for them. I don’t get to go on many walks, so I don’t get to see my neighbors and smell so many interesting things.
Smelling interesting things is one of the best parts of being a dog. Did you know that a dog’s sense of smell is up to 100,000x stronger than a human’s? Research shows that we can even smell when our owner has COVID-19. And, it is possible for us pets to catch the virus from our owners, too. Woof, yes! Dogs (and cats) can be infected by COVID-19. We mostly get it from our humans - our humans rarely get it from us.
Many pets have lost their owners to COVID-19. Thankfully, there is now a vaccine that is pretty good at keeping humans safe, even if they do get infected. COVID-19 vaccination helps protect the most important thing to every dog – their beloved owner. And getting vaccinated just might help keep us - your furry, four-legged friend - healthy, too.
There is nothing your dog loves more than you! Please consider vaccination.
Your pet will thank you.
